Unusual Projects with Fibreglass

Because fibreglass is such a versatile material, its uses are almost infinite. Here at Lining Systems GRP Limited we love a challenge, so we’re always up for discussing how we can help. And we usually can, because the benefits of our lining systems are many: It can conform around any complex shape or structure seamlessly and can be made available in almost any colour you desire! Fixtures and fittings can be bonded in during the process and the finish can be made non-slip if necessary. It can be applied to any required thickness and often applied quickly on-site and with minimum disruption – what’s not to love?

Here’s a few examples of the more unusual project areas we work on:

Theme Parks

Theme park rides and attractions experience a lot of use and can become damaged over time. This not only looks unsightly but also can potentially threaten the safety of the users. Replacing this type of equipment, though, may be ruinously expensive. That’s where we can come in – repairing and refurbishing with a fibreglass lining.

What’s more, we are able to provide our services with very little disruption to the park or attraction itself. By applying a fresh surface to old tired attractions, roller coasters and the like we give them a new lease of life both in appearance and durability, at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Slides, Flumes and Pools

A natural extension of both theme park projects and our broad experience with pool and water feature lining, is the manufacture of water borne rides, boats, water slides, splash pools and flumes: The watertight channels and flumes for these features are usually pre-fabricated as rigid sections for on-site assembly and installation. The same applies to water slides, although pools, flumes etc are often lined on-site.

Leisure Centres

Fibreglass is the ideal low cost, low maintenance, high quality material for use in the leisure centre environment because it can be moulded into almost any shape, is light, strong and resistant to all manner of weather extremes. Potential uses within a leisure or play centre environment include rock or climbing walls, outdoor furniture, seating, play areas and flooring.

At Lining Systems GRP Limited we are very proud of the relationships we have developed with our clients in the theme park and leisure industries, the repeat business and the new work we have gained through client recommendations. Is there something we could do to help you? Just give us a call to explore the solutions we can offer you.
